What can I say? I love this business.
As I write this post it’s 1AM. Less than 12 hours from now I’ll be sending along news live from New York city where we’re going today for a big announcement by Carnival Cruise Lines. I should be sleeping right now.
This happens on the eve of a cruise too. I can’t sleep like a kid on Christmas Eve can’t sleep. Cruise lines so have my number.
The “thing” about it. The reason I’m such a sucker for cruise line PR hoopla is that the product delivers everything cruise lines promise and almost all the time much more.
How many products can we say that about?
Forget restaurants and pretty much all food products. We don’t even begin to believe that what will be placed before us will actually look like what we see in advertising. If it’s somewhat close, that’s a win.
Forget cars and just about the whole automotive industry. Car makers would have us believe their cars never break down, are safe if we wreck them and can be had for a monthly price of less than an nice night on the town.
I could go on. Couldn’t you too?
Cruises consistently deliver what they promise and then some.
So when a cruise line says they have something to say, people listen.
If they say they have something big to say, it’s both ears.
If they’re hollering it from a rooftop in New York City, I’ll be there.
Stay tuned here, on Twitter and Facebook. This is going to be good.
