Mayreau is the smallest inhabited island of the Grenadines and with an area of about 1.5 square miles and a population of less than 300, the smallest island we have ever been to. Stopping at Saline Bay in Mayreau, Seabourn Quest cast a stunning image against the tropical ocean backdrop where Seabourn crew members created a day at the beach like no other. Featuring Caviar in the Surf and grilled fresh lobster, a tradition unique to the line, it was a day to be remembered always.
Taking a short tender ride from Seabourn Quest we were met by fishermen on the dock boasting of today’s catch, five pound lobsters that would soon be grilled for lunch. First though, came Champagne and caviar in the Surf brought to shore by high-speed motorboat and signaled by siren to alert everyone ashore.
While Maitre d‘ Marco, Bar Manager Gabor and Chef Andreas and their teams pampered guests shoreside with a beach barbecue like no other, guests and crew members enjoyed the pristine beaches, watersports, a local steel-drum band and a gigantic culinary offering. Featured were the fresh, grilled lobster along with steaks, chicken, a wide variety of salads, desserts and open bar for guests to enjoy.
