We’re on board Carnival Liberty all this week reporting on the implementation of Carnival Cruise Line’s new Funship 2.0 initiative, a $500 million project that promised to transform the line’s onboard experience when it was announced in October.

Most Carnival guests are aware that behind the scene of their cruise vacation there’s a bustle of activity to deliver fun memorable vacation experiences, but few have gotten an up-close look at these inner workings.  Behind the Fun is an exclusive opportunity to experience an array of “back of the house” areas that are vital to a ship’s daily operations.

The tour is extremely exclusive and only offered once during a cruise, on the last sea day and is limited to only 16 guests.

On the 3.5 hour tour, no cameras or recording devices of any kind are allowed due to the security-sensitive areas they will visit and would not be a good choice for those with mobility issues as a lot of stair  climbing is involved.

Guests who pay the $95 fee to go get a limited edition Behind the Fun baseball cap, identifying them as honorary team members and complementary commemorative photos.
