Cruise lines have sales all the time offering more value, lower prices or added amenities. That’s nothing new, especially at this time of the year, still considered “wave season” when a great many cruise vacations are sold annually. A common concern we have about cruise sales is what can be viewed as misleading advertising that touts a low fare or special offer. Investigating those deals we find they are good on just a few isolated sailings and in specific accommodations that may or may not be convenient to buyers.
To be fair, how else would cruise lines go about advertising specific sailings? Hot deals on a given date? They do that. Flash bargains when we book a certain category stateroom? They do that too.
Turning the tide, so to speak, is a new sale that starts today from Princess Cruises. Called the Sizzlin’ Summer Sale, they have the attention of anyone tired of cold and snow already with winter not even over yet. Add in that Princess Cruises is offering special fares on cruises to Europe and Alaska where passengers who book during the event can save up to $1,400 per couple off Launch Fares, that’s significant. The significant part is “off Launch Fares.” Those are the fares that come out when sailings are first opened up for sale, far in advance, and normally, always, consistently, represent the lowest possible fares…along the lines of fares offered to the line’s past-guest Captains Circle members.
The sale includes a variety of cruises to the Mediterranean, Scandinavia & Russia and Northern Europe, plus Princess’ acclaimed Alaska itineraries and, more significantly, all of those sailings and prices are disclosed in a fare chart.
That’s a great place to start, narrow down the search, then call or email your travel agent for booking.
