Princess Cruises has a unique, top-shelf social focus that engages fans and guests in a variety of mediums. Today, the line announced the release of yet another aspect of their social focus with a new book chronicling their 1 year experiment with travel blogging.
Princess Cruises’ award-winning blog 50 Essential Experiences The Travel Bucket List is now available in a 328 page soft-cover collectors’ book. The photo-packed volume takes readers to some of the most fascinating places around the globe, following in the footsteps of some worldly travelers as they share their favorite travel memories and “must see” places.
“Because of this reader enthusiasm, we decided to turn 50 Essential Experiences into a book to continue inspiring people to build their own bucket list of travel destinations,” said Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises executive vice president.
The blog stories are authored by Princess’ own destination experts; long-serving and well-traveled shipboard and shoreside employees. Each post tells a personal story, and readers also meet the expert through a revealing questionnaire.
The book, available on Amazon.com ($18.95) and on ships fleet-wide, recounts each of the Essential Experiences from one to 50, just as they were featured on the line’s year-long blog. The site, which became one of the most popular blogs in the cruise industry, attracted millions of views and thousands of comments.
“Few people have seen more of the world than our own destination experts,” noted Swartz. “In the more than four decades that we’ve been sailing the globe, many of our longest-serving shipboard and shoreside employees have logged thousands of sea and air miles visiting hundreds of countries, cities and sites. And now their experiences and recommendations will live on in this new book.”
Winner of several awards including a Gold Magellan Award from Travel Weekly magazine, a PRism Award from the Public Relations Society of America and a Platinum Marcom award from the Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals can be found at www.50EssentialExperiences.com.
Princess can also be found on their new blog, InspiredToCruise.com, on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr, Google+, in their News Room and on Pandora where listeners can customize and create a radio station of their choice. From “Relax” to “Rejuvenate” and everything in-between, the hits just keep on coming. Once set, listeners are invited to “Immerse yourself” with video that takes them away to sights they might see on a typical cruise where they have escaped completely ala Princess Cruises.
