Sailing down a river on a cruise ship? That’s exactly what we just did today, stopping at Rouen, France, a gateway to Paris aboard Azamara Journey. Better yet, we’ll be parked here for three days, allowing up close and personal time with the iconic destination.
Today, we’ll be going on grueling 10-hour shore exploration, called a Taste of Normandy. We’ll explore Normandy’s lush green pastures and apple orchards while visiting Fromagerie Graindorge and Chateau Breuil calvados distillery. We’ll stop in the seaside town of Deauville and Troville for a lunch and exploration before heading to Hornfleur to visit the charming town.
Nomally, I don’t do many shore excursions and prefer to just walk off the ship and explore on my own. But with Azamara’s destination immersion and multiple days in port, we get the best of both worlds with plenty of time for both organized and personal time ashore.
Stay tuned for all the details on today and be sure to visit our Pinterest board for photos uploaded all day, throughout our exploration and tune in to the next episode of Cruise Radio for an update!
